On (怨, Malice) is one of the defining features of the movie Hunter × Hunter: The Last Mission. It is the opposite of Nen. Instead of utilizing life energy, the aura from On is derived from hatred and can be considered "death energy." It grants one immense strength, with each user being able to utilize abilities similar to Nen at 100% efficiency. However, the use of On will kill the user following their defeat. Jed, Kito, Gaki, Shura, and Rengoku are all users of On in the movie.
The exception is that Kito uses On in anime in the fight.

Its strength doesn't require it to think too much in a battle. Still, its very good at analyzing people and reading their feelings, and can understand the value of the humans it kills to select the ones to resurrect as puppets. Although not a good strategist,Kito has highly developed instincts which often lead them to make the correct choice. Its a very fast learner when it comes to On, mastering it in an unprecedented short time.

Genius-level intellect: Kito is one of the smartest characters in the series. He outmaneuvered minds of Neferpitou's level with his perfect strategies and his predictions have rarely turned out to be wrong.
